Friday 1st May 2020 - PDH Re-Opening of Essential Service & MOT Department*

*In line with the Government's & Public Health England's Guidelines, together with strict social distancing measures in place.

At PDH Motor Group the safeguarding of our employees, customers, colleagues and their families remains our highest priority as well as to following the Government’s and Public Health England’s Guidelines that are in place to help us all. With this in mind but also to play our part as things move forward we intend to slowly and correctly begin to re-open for essential repairs and servicing...the full facilities of the dealership are still temporarily closed.

We understand that, during the unfolding situation with COVID-19 (coronavirus), you may have questions or concerns regarding your vehicle or a booking or order that you have placed with us. The very best way to contact us is either by telephone 01273 845544 or by sending us a quick email to [email protected] or use our online chat service.

As previously mentioned it is important to point out that the full facilities of the dealership will remain closed until it is considered safe to re-open our doors and in line with the Government’s Guidelines. For clarity of the day to day situation please contact us by telephone for updates on the current status especially if you are a key worker.  Government advice remains to not travel unless it is essential; driving for leisure or pleasure is certainly to be avoided. For many people, however, most importantly key workers, a car remains vital – whether it is to get to work or be able to buy food. At PDH we are working to be up and running to help keep things moving.

With regards to Car Sales we may not be able to invite you in for a coffee and showcase our cars, but we are still available to discuss any new or used car enquiries, as well as offering advice and support where we can. We are able to sell cars online and also offer a contactless, sanitised vehicle delivery service to your door keeping in mind 100% strict social distancing measures that are in place.

In such unprecedented times, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for their continued patience and support, whilst sending our best wishes to each and everyone.

With many exciting announcements due to be made at PDH over the coming months, we hope to safely re-open our doors and invite you back to see us very soon.

In the meantime stay safe, healthy and positive.

    Duncan Armstrong - Managing Director

My vehicle is due an MOT - what should I do?

The Government has put emergency legislation in place that will allow a temporary exemption so that if your MOT is due from 30th March 2020, you will automatically receive a six month extension. However, if you’re still using your vehicle you must ensure that it’s in a roadworthy condition. The DVSA announced the following guidance for vehicle owners:

    • They should still get an MOT if it expires before 30 March 2020
    • If their MOT due date expires from 30 March 2020 it will be extended by 6 months

Please continue to check the official Government advice for the latest information.

What should I do if my vehicle tax and MOT both run out in April

Further to the above MOT guidance, the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has published the below for vehicle owners:

    • You cannot renew your vehicle tax until your MOT expiry date has been extended (it will be extended a few days before it was originally due to expire)
    • This will subsequently mean that you may need to tax your vehicle later in the month.
    • You can find details of your MOT and vehicle tax renewal dates by entering your vehicle's details on the government's website here.

Please continue to check the official Government advice for the latest information.

Who should I contact if I have questions or concerns about my vehicle finance?

It’s understandable that you may have questions and concerns about your vehicle finance at this time, especially the status of your monthly repayments and what options are available to you.

We would advise that you contact your lender as soon as possible and they’ll be able to look into your individual circumstances and advise on the type of assistance that they are offering customers.
